Frequently Asked Questions

What should my child bring to camp?

Your child should have sunscreen applied at home and brought to camp. Campers will also need a water bottle, towel, bathing suit, snack and sneakers. Rookie campers should bring a change of clothes and diapers/wipes if needed. All personal items need to be labeled with first and last name of camper. We are not responsible for lost or stolen items.

What if I need to bring my child before the camp day starts?

We offer Before Care that runs from 7-8:15am then we bring your child to their specific camp program. If you need care after the camp day, we have After Care that runs from 3-6pm. The charge is $12/hour to be paid at the end of the week.

What if I can not pick up my child by 3:00pm?

If you know you will be running late, you need to call our camp office to let us know to bring the child to our Extended Care Program. Any child not picked up by 3:15 will be brought over to Extended Care at the Atlantis Prep School. The program is available until 6pm. The charge is $12/hour that will be billed out at the end of the week. Payment needs to be made at that time.

Should I pack a snack?

Yes. There will be no snack provided throughout the day or after camp. Rookie and Adventure Camp will have a morning and afternoon snack time.

Should I pack a lunch?

Lunch can be brought from home or purchased for $5.00 a day cash. The menu is Mon/Wed/Fri pizza, Tue/Thurs Jersey Mikes ham/cheese or turkey/cheese sandwich. Lunches must be ordered by 10am.

What should my child bring for njswim?

Your child should bring 2 towels, goggles and a snack. Water shoes or sneakers are required- no flip flops. There is no lunch for swim campers unless they are staying for Mid Day Camp.

What are the ages for camp?

Atlantis Prep Rookie Camp runs from ages 2  – Kindergarten. Our Adventure Day Camp is from 1st grade through 8th grade.

How are the campers grouped?

All Rookie Campers are grouped by age and schedule. Adventure campers are grouped by the grade they are entering in the fall and gender.  Sports campers, Tennis campers and Swim campers are grouped by age and ability.

What are the days available for camp?

Our Adventure Club runs 3, 4, or 5 full days (8:30am-3pm). Our Rookie Camp runs 3, 4, or 5 full days (8:30am-3pm), 2 half days (Tue/Thurs 8:30am-12pm), 3 half days (Mon/Wed/Fri 8:30am-12pm) or 5 half days (8:30am-12pm). If you are enrolled in a half day morning camp such as Enrichments, Njswim, Sports  or Tennis, and you need the full day, we do offer a Mid Day option (12pm-3pm).This is only available to campers already enrolled in one of our morning camps

How will I know where to drop my child off?

You can park and walk your child to their program.

  • Rookie Campers (2-3 yrs) are dropped off inside Atlantis Prep School.
  • Rookie campers (4 yrs-Kindergarten) are dropped off at our playground located next to Atlantis Prep School.
  • Enrichment Campers are dropped off inside Atlantis Prep School.
  • Adventure Campers are dropped off on the side of the fieldhouse.
  • All Sports Camps are dropped off at our indoor turf facility.
  • Power Tennis Campers are dropped off at Tennis #1 (outdoor courts).
  • Munchkin and Tennis Academy Campers are dropped off at Tennis #2.
  • Njswim Campers are dropped off at our Complex Pool.

How many counselors are there per group?

There are always 2-3 counselors per group, depending on the number of campers. All counselors are CPR and First Aid certified.

What is your refund policy?

Full refunds will be given up until May 15, 2020. After that, you will be given camp credit that can be used for another camp or any Junior Program and will expire 12/31/20. If a child is injured and can not participate, we will need a doctor’s note and you will be given a refund.

What if my child is sick or away and can not attend?

We do not do make up days for camp. If your child is sick or chooses not to come, there will be no refund or credit given.

What if my child needs medication during the camp day?

We have a camp nurse on staff for any child that is sick, gets hurt or needs medication. Any medication needs to be brought in the original bottle with the prescription label attached.

What if I want to make any changes to my child’s camp day?

We allow 3 changes per camper. You may switch to a different camp if there is availability. After 3 changes, you will be charged a $15 change fee. Any cancellations must be made in writing and submitted to the camp office.

Can I sign up the day of camp?

Pre-Registration is required. There will be a $25 walk in fee applied if you sign up the day of. If you are to make any changes in your child’s schedule or want to add another program, we need to know the Thursday prior to the week you will be attending.

Can my child swim in the deep end of the pool?

All campers must take a deep end test to be allowed to swim in the deep end of the pool. The lifeguard will observe the camper swim 2 full laps of the pool and tread water for 1 minute.

How do I pick up my child?

All campers must be signed out by a parent or guardian. Campers must have a parent pick up form completed on who is authorized to pick up the child. If someone is picking up your camper and is not on the list, please call our camp office so we can let the counselor know. All persons picking up must show valid ID
